After Keyd Stars were eliminated from ESL ESEA Pro League Finals at the hands of fnatic in the quarter-finals, we talked to Lucas "steel" Lopes.

After surprising TSM in the initial round of group play, Keyd Stars lost to CLG in the first place decider yesterday. They were then eliminated from the tournament at the hands of fnatic, despite taking de_train to overtime.

Take a look below to see what Lucas "steel" Lopes had to say on the team's losses, how satisfied the team was with the result and what the team's plans were for the future.

How well were you prepared for CLG knowing that you'd most likely end up playing TSM and fnatic?

To be honest we were really prepared for TSM and fnatic, we did not expect that CLG would get the win against fnatic. It was sad for us, because we weren't so well prepared for CLG.

Keyd Stars showed promising results in Cologne

Going into that match, you haven't played cache against anyone else at this tournament, how good are you on it realistically?

We thought that we were prepared, but our cache is a little bit inconsistent, we can completely dominate against a top team but we can get dominated by a tier two team. We thought that we could do good, but it didn't happen.

You met fnatic in the quarter-finals in the best-of-three, how comfortable were you with the maps coming out?

Actually, we made a mistake in the veto, to play inferno again. They knew basically everything we do on inferno. I think that was the first mistake. We had to play another map, because like I said, they knew everything we do. The second map, train, actually was one of the maps that we were thinking about picking. We played two maps that we wanted to.

Seeing as train is still somewhat new, were you confident on the map as an underdog team?

That's the thing we learned from this tournament, we have to play these new maps against top teams, cobblestone, train, overpass. We do good against them, we did good on them in Katowice against Virtus.pro and we did good again versus fnatic. That's the thing we can learn from.

Considering your expectations going into this tournament, you knew that you were going to meet the two best teams in the world, how satisfied are you with the result?

We are not so satisfied. After the win against TSM we really thought we were gonna go to the semis against CLG.

Going into ESWC, there's not going to be the whole top six there and it should be a little easier than this tournament, what are your expectations for that one?

It's never easier, every team is professional, they practise for it, they work hard before it. It's never easy, but we expect at least top three at ESWC.

What's the plan for the future after ESWC, seeing as the ESL ESEA season just ended?

After ESWC we plan to bootcamp for the major, then we plan to go back to America for the other season of ESL ESEA, that's the plan. We have to bootcamp, do good in the major to continue to be legendary and that's it.
